Bad Weather Guidance

posted by Wendie Harrison   [ updated ]

We would like to remind parents about bad weather procedures. Firstly, we will make every effort to ensure the school stays open. The decision to close the school will only be made if we consider there is a health and safety issue for children and staff. If the school is to close we will communicate this as soon as possible in a variety of ways.

Firstly our website will be regularly updated with closure information. This can be found at: www.mundella.sheffield.sch.uk.

We also contact Radio Sheffield who will provide regular updates on school closures. Finally, we will email parents who have given us their contact details and send out messages via twitter. Please only take confirmation of school closures from the above official sources of information.

Please note that during days when ice and snow clearance is necessary only the main gate onto Derbyshire Lane will be in use in a morning and the side gate onto Mundella Place at the end of the day.  The gate onto the gennel will not be opened until such time as it is possible to clear paths from there to the building.  Please make sure that your child knows an alternative route to/from school if you do not bring/collect them.

Healthy Eating

We have new section under Parent Information called 'Health Eating'.  This has lots of information about making healthy packed lunches along with some ideas for a tasty healthy lunchbox.  Please have a read. but remember; if you send grapes cut them long ways (top to bottom) to avoid choking and not to send anything containing nuts.  Thank you.

There is a new 'Daily Letters' tab on the website where we will place a copy of any information sent out.

We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause.
