Healthy Minds

Healthy Minds is a school-based project which aims to support the emotional health and well being of children and young people. It puts emotional resilience at the heart of children’s health and well being and recognises its impact on their learning, attainment, behaviour and future employability.

The project is led by Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust’s CAMHS team working in collaboration with schools across the city.

Mundella became a Healthy Minds School in 2017-18. We have an ongoing approach to supporting and nurturing the mental health and well being of both our staff and children. The project is led by Michelle Reynolds and Lisa Hewitt.

Aims for 2019-20:
  • To promote belonging, emotional resilience and relationships in all classrooms through regular sensory breaks, worry boxes and morning greetings.
  • To support all staff in managing their own well being and work life balance through a staff-led, community approach.
  • To share some of our Healthy Minds Learning with parents (Spring Term to tie in with Children’s Mental Health Week)

Children's Mental Health Week

The following video has been put together to show our parents and carers how children learn about Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing at Mundella. All children (and adults) will be experiencing a greater range of emotions right now - we hope this might help when talking to your children about 'feelings' and how to handle their emotions.
At the bottom of the page, there is also a PDF document which has more information for parents. Please have a read of this document too.
