Here at Mundella, we are proud to be in partnership with Taylor Shaw who provide our children with good quality, healthy and fresh food every day. Taylor Shaw work on site in our kitchen, preparing food from a bespoke menu approved by our Headteacher.

Taylor Shaw's dieticians and cooks ensure our meals are nutritionally balanced, creative and appealing to children, to meet all the requirements of the Department of Education School Food Standards. 

Taylor Shaw promise to work in close conjunction with parents and carers of pupils with medical dietary requirements to ensure that their individual needs are met. With the help of parents and carers providing detailed information regarding dietary needs of their child, Taylor Shaw can create a specific menu, catering to their additional needs. 

If your child is interested in having school meals in school and have additional dietary requirements, it is the parent/carers responsibility to contact Taylor Shaw who will begin the easy process of creating a specific menu.

School Dinners

Healthy school dinners are cooked on the premises.  If you would like your child to have a school dinner the following is for your information:

All infant children (FS, Y1 and Y2) are offered a free school meal each day (universal infant free school meals).  Your child just needs to tell their teacher at registration if they are staying for a school meal.  They will also be asked for their menu choice.

The cost of dinners for junior Children (Y3-6) is:

Per day:  £2.30

Full week:  £11.50

School lunches should be paid using an online system called ParentPay. You can access Parent Pay via this weblink: https://www.parentpay.com/.  Please ask at the office if you do not have your login details for this.

Income Based Free School Meals and Milk - Am I eligible? How do I apply?

Please follow the web link below to see the Sheffield City Council Free School Meal website page. This provides detailed information about eligibility and to apply for income based free school meals and milk.

 Your child may be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following:

• Income Support
• Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
• Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
• Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
• The guaranteed element of Pension Credit
• Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
• Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
• Universal Credit - if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)

Children who get paid these benefits directly, instead of through a parent or guardian, can also get free school meals.

Your child may also get free school meals if you get any of these benefits and your child is both:

• Younger than the compulsory age for starting school
• In full-time education

If your child is eligible for free school meals, they’ll remain eligible until they finish the phase of schooling (primary or secondary) they’re in on 31 March 2022.

 

School Milk

All primary school children in Sheffield aged between 5-11 years are entitled to subsidised school milk at a cost of 23p (as at September Term 1 2023) for a 1/3 pint (189 ml) carton of semi-skimmed.

Primary School pupils over the age of 5 who are eligible for Income Based Free School Meals are also eligible for free milk. All children under the age of 5 are eligible for free milk (under 5s are automatically offered this).

A letter goes home before the end of term to inform you of the cost of milk for the following term. If your child is over 5 years old, and you want your child to have school milk during the following term, you will need to pay for the next terms milk via Parent Pay by the deadline in the letter.  The online ParentPay system can be accessed via  https://www.parentpay.com/.
